Hi all, I try not to post as often as I can, but there are certain moments that you just can not avoid. Even though Laura Llew beat me to the punch, I must wish a happy birthday to the wonderful Marie Elia. For those of you who have not had the pleasure of meeting Dear Marie, she is a lurvely girl and a kind and marvellous soul. Now that that is out of the way, a little about me (as if you cared.) I think I have been suffering from that winter depression people talk about, compounded by the fact that I have spent the majority of the last 72 hours either sleeping or looking at a computer screen. However, with spring right around the corner and a bevy of shows coming up (starting with Kids in the Hall on Saturday) I think I am going to break out of it. I think I have hit a low in my Belle and Sebastian fandom lately. I will occasionally throw a song on a mixed tape or two for driving, but I can't bring myself to listen to a recording. Hopefully, I'll break out of it soon, but it feels like the sort of thing where I won't get excited until the new LP is out. *sigh* Why did they have to add an extra day to February? Sinister: of villages and rehab

Oh man! The Sinister Village would be a wonderful thing. In response to Velocity's call for someone to run the MenTAl hOsPitAl I would like to put myself forward. I'm feel I'm qualified because I deal with some quite disturbed people on a daily basis and my brother-in-law used to be a psychiatric nurse so he can show me how to deal with violent patients. Mine will a GRATE funny farm that will use no drugs or ECT, just soothing music, tea and cakes. A nice cup of tea and a cake won't solve everybody's problems but I reckon it could sort out 98%. If anybody wants to DJ the soothing music then send me a list of yer top ten soothing choons. There will also be a rehab ward for anyone who's spent too long at the pub or at the gym. I mean it was OK for a while and then things got out of control as some of my friends kept jumping on the wooden floor and made the needle jump on my V I N Y L S and then, I don't know how, some drink was spilled on my Tigermilk LP... thank God, it wasn't serious and the LP ended up in my untidy sink with some dirty plates and cups... but it recovered now... Sinister: "How Does it Feel To Feel?"

hello sinister kids of the world... This post will be a Sarah-less post. Doing this one on my own... At the moment, I am trying to finish a paper...that I completley forgot about. :( Hopefully I can do somewhat of a good job, but in return I will have bloodshot eyes and be in a bad mood for the next day. I NEED MY SLEEP S L E e P AWAKE! So. This weekend I saw the Acid House for the first time. The movie was pretty good, but not exactly what I had expected. Thought I must admit...Sarah and I got a bit giddy when "Slow Graffiti" was playing... beautiful. The funniest thing about the film was probably that it was subtitled! The English language being subtitled for an english speaking audience, how bizzare! Suppose it was the thick scottish accents that would give american audiences problems, and also the slang terminology. It sure was a joy to see translations of many naughty words put up on the screen. Tee-hee. I would like to say that the movie made me frightened of Scottish people..for a moment..and then I got over it. :) Personally, I would like to see Maribou Stork Nightmares turned into a movie...crazy. Wendsday will be an interesting day. For my major at university I have to go to a school and observe a teacher for a whole day. Originally I had planned on going back to my old high school...but when I thought about it...I was frightened of the place. Instead, I will be going to observe at a Middle School, where the kids range in age between eleven and thirteen. I walked into the school today to scheule an appointment...and for a moment I felt like I was 13 and back in school there again. I went to the Principals office...and for some strange reason...I was nervous...just like the time when I got called to his office for writing a nasty note to my busdriver..but thats another stupid story.. Anyhow! I approached the desk..and a young boy with a squeaky voice was on the telephone trying to convince his mother that he was sick and needed to be picked up from school early. Reminded me of my days at that school.. trying to get my mother on the phone...to rescue me from the facist 12 year olds that always harassed me.. FACISTS! I swear. Anyhow, I am going back to that school with a new life, a new purpose..and yet I am still afraid. As long as the kids dont call me ugly hair girl, lesbian, bitch, and try to kick the shit out of me...I think I will be fine. I will just have to remember...these are not the same kids you went to school with, and refrain from yelling "Who has cool hair now, fuckers!!" or possibly chasing them down the halls trying to shove them in the toilets instead...facist bastards. AND i am not a REDCOAT! AND I DO NOT SACRAFICE CATS AND I DID NOT HAVE SEX WITH THE LESBIAN GYM TEACHER. Oh, im sorry. Flashbacks. Now, I am a professional...and things will be different. I've grown. :) AND Finally. To Mark of Tigermilking fame. You are a brave man for having an event while Sarah and I are town...you have no idea.... anyhow, if you can give me a time and a location...you will be garunteed a visit... hey we might even throw in some arse dancing.. Oh! I must say that I'm quite excited to be in charge of the bookshop in Sinister Village. When Honey suggested that we all move to a farm, I got put in charge of the milk maids (since I grew up on a farm and was the only one who knew anything about milking.... cows.) The bookshop seems to be a lot more subdued and more suited to me anyway. Instead of marking books with "Oprah's BookClub" stickers there would just be "Laura Literary List" markers on the book. Yes, very nice indeed! I was thinking that I'd have a HUGE religion section right across from a GIGANTIC homosexual section. Maybe make the aisle a bit small. That way people looking at the opposite sides would have to brush into each other. From what I've seen, they're better at bible bashing and full out heated religious wars than others (though I must say that Mormon missionaries are by far the *cutest*. This was the name of one on some crappy Julia Roberts movie (didn't realize one of those existed, didja?) I saw the other night. Really, I've seen better film on teeth. I had to wait until after midnight to send this post because the main reason I'm writing is to wish MARIE ELIA a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Yes, sinister children, today is Ree's 22nd birthday! I've always thought that she was one of the loveliest lasses of Sinisterville. Never have I encountered such foul mindless perversity! I wonder if she's ever considered a career in politics? No, really, she's wonderful! This isn't just because she's dark headed and from the eastern US (a sure sign of greatness indeed). But she also has great taste in boys -- Blake (very dreamy) and Paralis Jared (who said, "My parents don't wear enough leather for my tastes." If I ever make a list of things that I never want to see, I believe that my parents in leather will be at the top of that list. But whatever floats your boat, Jared.) Not only that but her posts are always chalked full of smut and other great things. To prove this point, I went back in the archives and picked out my top 5 Marie Elia moments. 5-- "Anyway, how did i spend my saturday night, if not listening to mercury rev/sparklehourse, like i shoulda been? yo, wisteria is good for the soul. i discovered this mysterious violet spray of blossom that hangs off a rather large woody green shrub by the tennis courts, they waft a minty yet lavendery fragrance far ahead of their actual location, and are really beautiful. i have one in the glass of water by my window, my whole room smells like it now, and i discovered that is in fact, probably wisteria. i'm rather pleased. having never actually seen any before. Seeing new flowers is very exciting to me. So yes, velocity and christa and i are quite pumped about planning the sinister village. yes, we can have a sport and track and field area, somewhere probably near the town square/picnic centre, so set up your teams and get practicing! and i think we'll need lots and lots of wisteria in the gardens, yes oh yes, and some forsythia, bouganvillea, lilac and most definitely snowballs, which have another real name which i stupidly can't think of at this moment, but you know what they look like? and lots of briar creeping wild roses and blackberry thickets in the fox-park by the church where the old stone bridge goes over a crickly creek, and a mysterious white roebuck is rumoured to haunt the foggy dawn therein. Who wants to be the Sinister gardener and botanist??? Plant plenty of Pansies!! yes, yes, yes. we should have a center of operations to compile everyone's ideas for the village plan, i have some collected, and we can pool our minds together. then i'll draw up the map, and whatever. wouldn't it be cool if we were resourceful enough to have a thing like geocities, only it's sinisterville, with different neighborhoods and an online indie rekkid shop and stuph like that? and virtual pastries and adult novelties and icecreams.
