morning chaps okay, so it's actually the afternoon/early evening, but i remember mark and lard saying it in the mornings on the radios before i went to school, it's stuck in my head and i just like it, okay??? good, glad that's sorted. i've never heard of apple butter. is it just apple flavoured butter? okay, that's probably a daft question, but you get stuff like.....~thinks~......lemon curd which is the most disgusting stuff on earth, and i was thinking it's maybe like that...... glad to hear jenowl is going to be the fairy godmother in her school play. all sinisterines should be someone's fairy godmother (or fairy godfather). in my school plays, i was a sheep, a french hen (as in the 3 French hens from that godawful song), a lady called babushka who i think is like a female santa or something and i was Macduff in Macbeth. at my school, it was always the popular, pretty girls that got the starring roles, i was always pushed to the side of the stage or at the back, the excuse was "oh amy, you're tall, everyone will see you". yeah, right.... hte pretty girls could never act anyway, they just wandered on and fluffed their lines, then smiled meekly at a passing camcorder and the audience would go "aaw, isn't she lovely!" and no one would laugh or anything. grr. i went to t in the park avec Monsieur Jason Andreas and Fuzzylugs *giggle*...(he's gonna hate me for saying that, heh heh heh).....there was a big gang of our non-sinister friends there too, and a good time was had by all. Hellos to Jarvis, who got a free Matrix-style mobile phone (for the day) and a hospitality pass, simply for being a junior-journo (some guys have all the luck...) and hi to sweetie, cheers for the love hearts, i'm so glad i saw muse!!! was grate/great, 'cept that i didn't see looper cos i couldn't get a weekend pass, only a sunday one, grrr.... tho nothing on earth could beat the time myself and jason met chris geddes after the looper gig at king tuts, such a softly spoken young man, he looked quite daunted by his legions of fans...*smile* and i'm losing my voice, which isn't so great, but it makes me sound kinda husky, and i've heard that boys find that a Good Thing. will phone jason and find out. ho hum am feeling very happy at the moment, a lot happier than i've been in a long time, and y'know what? it's great! i want a glasgow picnic too, maybe in september/october? or maybe a winter picnic, when it's all snowy and icy and sparkly and we can wander through kelvingrove park in the glittery snow talking about intelligent stuff, eating jam and scones and drinking cream teas. or we could do the whole Christmas thing, where we annoy the Santa's in the shops and sit on his knee and tell him we want an arab strap for Xmas. "Hello little girl, have you been good this year?" "Nope. But that won't matter cos guess what I want for a present..." okaay s'me again - but i shant bang on about nonsense again (hmm), merely say raaaah! am at work and we just found the big box of archive nme's - we're looking through one from 1969 for fricks sake! currently riding high (so to speak) in the charts is: mama cass 'it's getting better' ('beautiful thing' - aww...) je taime moi non plus!!! jane b. and lovely lovely serge, ummm ooh number 1 is 'in the year 22525 - bloody hell, it's like being in back to the future or something... i should be careful, it's nestled between my reeces pieces and cup of tea... Hallo Here's the contribution for the month. Maybe it will make up for last months getting lost in the post. Can one day we have a picnic that isnt on top of a big hill? If we took a trip to the Norfolk broads, it would be flat. And full of boats and dykes. That would cater to everyones tastes, no? I shall still go to the picnic. I can't help it. I won't remember any of your names though. Unless you're pretty. Ill be the one looking tired. And possibly the one rolling down the hill with Ms MacArthur. I have to go to work in 10 minutes. Im increasingly sick of it. The outgoings are not worth the rewards. Im sick of people wanting my time. Specifically, Im sick of men who reply 'Your phone number' when asked 'Would you like anything else?' Just give me the money and fuck off, as my friend Tom says. Only, there's no money involved on the deli. Just tell me how many slices of Sopocka youd like and fuck off doesnt sound the same. I went back to Oxford on Sunday. It was quiet and pretty. I could have stayed. I was in the loft when I heard movement downstairs. It was my marvellous brother wandering around looking for me, a miniature cockerel in his hand. 'What are you doing with that bird?' I enquired. He climbed the ladder into the loft, and said 'Meet Jontyclew'. At least, thats what it sounded like. He put the tiny thing on the floor, and it made straight for the section where my father grows interesting plants. I spent the next 10 minutes in loft space, which for the entire world could have been a replica of Warhol's factory, chasing an undersize rooster. We didnt tell my dad, but he'll wonder why there's hen poo in the loft, I guess. All the post boxes round here have notices across the slot saying Royal Mail Closed. How can a post box be closed? I suspect it may be something to do with that strike in support of football hooliganism. I object to being affected by news stories. I could get stopped in the street and asked my opinion. I dont like this one bit. Hot damn! Anne Robinson and her minions could be quizzing me at the drop of a hat. Better watch my back, hadnt I? Alice Beer could be lurking. Sarah Clarke, this is another reason why you havent received your birthday present yet. At The Drop of A Hat was the title of a Flanders and Swann tape I had when I was younger. I loved it to bits. Our family werent big on buying tapes. I remember my brother once got a learning to tell the time cassette. It was intensely irritating. All I recall is a song on it with these lyrics You can chuck it in a bucket, you can throw it at the wall. Hewwo, Ok, bad subject line I know. Only two days 'till I go on holiday! Yay! My copy of Nalda Said arrived in the town bookshop today, but, through extrordinary willpower, I'm not opening it 'till I get on the plane. Well, maybe just a peek... My ex boyfriend (yes I have one) phoned me up this morning, all angry. Apparently he met some girl over the internet called Jenny, who's 14, and he thinks it's me trying to take the wind up him. Well, I mean, it is me, and it's really funny, because he's a moke, but that didn't stop me being indignant at him. He phoned up yelling "does the name Jenny mean anything to you?" and I said "yes, it sort of does, because it's my name". Then he started doing the whole detective thing at me reeling off all the reasons why it might be me, but most of the reasons were all wrong and flawed, but I couldn't say, because if I did he'd guess it was me. God, I'm evil... Today, I'm going into town, not least because my dad's given me a fiver to get rid of me. He says it's for food, but I always forget to eat, so really it's for books. I'm going to wear my purple hat, and screw the hard kids. Well, not actually, because that would just be yucky, but you know what I mean. It's the one with a bow on it. No B&S 'till 2001. But that's ages away! I'll be 15 by then (ooh, imagine me at 15 - that's ancient!). You know what would be really shady? If they only played over 18's places. They don't gel with me, I'd have to hid under a nice legal sinisterine's cardigan, so the door-people wouldn't see me. And try not to mention my age in front of the staff, like I did at the glasgow pub-nic. All my friends are on holiday, and most of them come back when I go away. How moke-ish is that? That's why I'm now living in the library. Yeah, the books are my friends, they like me... Oh, libraries. I forgot, I haven't been to the sini-ville site for ages, and I'm the librarian there. Noddy juice is grate. Especially orange flavour. Juice tastes much better if there's a picture of Noddy and Big Ears on the carton. Noddy alcohol would be grater than grate. hi!!!! well I'm going to see Salako tonight...... ohohoh!!! I'm really happy... hey all, i remember talk a little while back of who you would like to see cover belle and sebastian and i thought i would like to hear will oldham doing a cover of "the state i'm in" . can't you just imagine him elongating the opening "iiiiiiiiiiiiiiii was suprised, i was happy for a day.........." but now the thought has creeped up on me that "i fought in a war" sounds very much like a song that the bonnie prince would sing. if you read the lyrics on a page, had never heard the song and had to chose between who out of bonnie and belle had sung it, my bet is that you would place your money on prince billy or whatever he is calling himself at the moment... in other news, i moved to london the other week and had the wise idea of upgrading my belle and sebastian badge from my pouch to my backpack, only for it to fall off on its first day out. hmph. but i have just started work for a new media group and on the rotating cd player belle and sebastian occasionally pops up... not to mention hearing it in net cafes around the way... shopping in my local europa billy joel started funking it up out of the speakers. it truly inspires me when he plays in shopping centers. happens allot in australia. billy joel and the beach boys always seemed to pop up in the selection of tunes at my local supermarket.. they are both great to shop to.. on the other hand, a little while ago i was shopping in the local op shop and a Muzak version of the smashing pumpkins was playing... this is not so good to shop to right d <<<<<<<<www.renewal.org.au/object>>>>>>>> <<<<<<<<www.renewal.org.au/frost>>>>>>>>> +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the undead Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail sinister(a)missprint.org. Afternoon chaps and chapesses. Has someone from here been having a go at lovely young Ronan as I've just seen this on the nme site: Action is taken after the Boyzone singer is sent a reportedly "sinister" e-mail... Whoever it is be careful, he's got armed rozzers looking after him, but good luck anyhow. Hmmm picnic, I am still in two minds as I'm not feeling particularly sociable at present and would hate to be talked about as the bloke who turned up and just grouched at people. Last night I was in a pub on the Thames and loads of war plane type things were flying over, I thought they might be going to finish off the Queen's mum before she did the Ton, no such luck I'm afraid so it looks like Englands going to be full of jingoistic types saying things like "gawd bless 'er she stayed in London during the blitz you know??" I may as well put in my tuppence worth on Pink floyd while I'm here, in days past I must admit I listened to them and didn't find it altogether unpleasant but that seems to have worn off a little as I found an old tape a while ago tried to listen and found it very tricky indeed. Mind you it's like Markc said the other day, all us old types have probably got a few musical skeletons in their closet (scritti politti anyone??? ohh I did have a liking for them when I was much thinner than I am now) Anyhoo I'm going for now as I've actually got to do some work for a change as I'm leaving early today just because I can.
