hola seno....senor......er..... kids, this post has two purposes: 1. to moan about the terrible weekend i had in london, and 2. to coax some dubliners into coming to a badly organised meetup on saturday. those of you who aren't convinced i can pull this off with any flair or finesse should turn away now. okay. well, what can i say about my travels to the big schmoke? friday was Fun. i went to the poetry cafe, marvelled at nick dastoordly's nickpants, and left. it was what happened after that that GOT ON MY TITS. my hosts for the weekend turned out to be techno-cokehead-freakchildren, so i spent the rest of the weekend at bangin' techno clubs and Dodgy Parties. i didn't even get a bit of Hot Boy Action to cheer me up. in fact, the closest thing i got to Hot Boy Action was a lesbian who seemed quite taken with my drunken ramblings. mind you, that guy serving behind the counter in the poetry cafe is a bit of alright, isn't he? i wouldn't kick him out of bed for eating crisps, like. if he is on this list i think i shall die now. ************************************************************************ **************** today i have been mostly listening to The Best Of Cece Peniston. it is the best record ever made* ************************************************************************ **************** as those of you unfortunate enough to live in dublin may already know, salako are playing in whelans this saturday night. some bloke from some band called ball and sebastian (?) will be djing afterwards too. for anyone who is interested, there will be one of those shambolic meet-up affairs in the Long Hall pub on Georges St at about 7.30pm before the gig. ************************************************************************ ***************** i got a list crush, you know. you see : cursing gets you EVERYWHERE. ************************************************************************ ***************** right, i think i've said enough. my fingers are tired from all that action. and dont get me started about the typing. Chirpy chirpy cheep cheep, I've had a few private comments from people about mails to the list recently. Nothing nasty, as polite and gentle and tentative as anything, and entirely proper: I'm always looking for people to tell me if the list is how they want it to be and do a bit of gentle steering. I hope this is gentle :) The comments add up to a general consensus from a few, which is that the list is becoming just a little unwieldy to keep up with as a reader again. History teaches us that Sinister starts to roll downhill when not enough people can keep up, and start posting stuff without reading. I'd therefore crave your indulgence to please remember the following: * One or two-line emails aren't generally appreciated by people on the receiving end. Please put a bit of content and a bit of you into your emails. "A bit of you" doesn't necessarily mean a bodypart, but sometimes it excites primitive stirrings. * "Dear diary" emails, where someone is telling the list what they did today (sometimes every day :) ) get a bit much for a lot of people. Remember the list is a dialogue between you and the.. 1000 people you're talking to. Please don't post something you wouldn't happily read from 100 other people. Alright, 50. * We've had a few duplicate posts recently: I've checked back, nervous as I am to ascribe blame to someone that my software actually caused, but all these have been separately sent emails. Blame isn't being acribed to anyone actually, but could those using WWW mail interfaces like hotmail please be extra careful. These are nearly always the result of clicking the "Send" button twice when it's slow. * Please do try and be aware if you're posting very frequently, and pull back to give some others a chance. My biggest fear with the list is that it starts to appear as a clique, with a few people talking for a lot of others. I don't think it's ever quite got this way, but sometimes people are intimidated by a lot of posts from a few, and don't post themselves. Likewise please try and package up your replies into a single mail, rather than a lot of individual small ones. All this can be summed up with usual plea for people to think twice before they post to the list please and slow down just a bit now. I'm SO sorry to those who've heard this a million times before. But it's a very big list, and we need to all do our bit to keep it from fragmenting, as has happened so often on other lists. This is a fabulous and special place to be, and it's down to all of you. I'll do my usual job of begging no-one to take this personally. No matter how much I say this someone always mails me and says "oh god, you meant me, I feel so bad". Please remember that all I'm doing is reflecting what people say to me they like and don't like on the list, and you're welcome to mail me privately and tell me too - I just try and reflect the majority opinion. Oh and please don't hate me or I'll break down and cry, I'm a great cryer. Besides, my body has done it's usual trick of succumbing to a virus after a trip away and I'm stuck in bed with a brain full of glue feeling pretty awful: so I'm not thinking of anyone in particular because I'm not thinking of anything at all. And lots of people have sent me things like photos for the galleries: please (eek) bear with me as I have only a few compus mentus hours a day, and yesterday I spent them in the chatroom boring everyone to death with a rather solemn-faced rant. Sorry chatters :) I feel suitably embarrassed now, just like I said I would. Mail from me without my apron on and rolling pin out to follow. Just being mummy. Right, seeing as none of you know me, I thought i'd introduce myself by........having absolutely nothing to say. Damn. Ah well, I guess I'll just be dull and give you a breakdown of my "favourite things". Let's see, there's my guitar, on which I can't play most b&s songs 'cos they use bobbins chords which I don't know (anyone help?). Next there's football. Then music. Then drinking. That's my life. I'm a computing student, but that doesn't mean that I like Star trek and stay in all night programming. By the way, I've just got Tigermilk and can't stop playing it. Now I just need those darned expensive EP's. Anyway, I'll stop there because, let's face it, you all did ages ago... Rude boys and girls, I havent written in a while, it's because I'm sulking around until people send me pictures for my Gallery. Sweetie promised me 50s shoes, but did they come? They did not! Oh! Fine. (hmph, hmph, etc) you know I would have thought our very own gay dirty Den Ian (where are you?) could have sent me his Saint Etienne T-shirt. There was girl offering to give her trousers away! You cheeky rascals! Are you trying to drive me to insanity? I went to see Lord of the Flies last night in Hammersmith. It was sort of like a TECHNO version, but the head boy was quite good-looking and took his top off a lot. Which was nice. Now I'm sure someone tried to start a thread about 'embarassing things you've seen but never told anyone'. Me and Hannah were walking home from dinner in town once and a man pulled his pants down right in front of a huge window, as in, arse facing outwards.....and the other day, my friend Kate went to the sixth form Ladies', and when she opened the door of her cubicle, a bum was poking out. We couldn't think why whoever's bum it was would be poking outwards and not on the toilet, so we decided she was probably checking out her business. Hannah's right. I *do* have terminal potty-mouth. It's the new headmistresses' fault. I have proper teen angst against that woman because she cut the art budjet to aid a TALENT SHOW. The Talent shows at our school usually consist of two thirteen year old girls singing 'My Heart Will Go On' by Celine Dion over the top of a tape of the actual song, so you can't quite hear which voice is which and a Barbershop quartet of four prissy girls which sing Eric Clapton covers. Everyone cooes. No one ever cooes at the A level Art shows. Why not BUY their love instead? No, really, I think resort to old cliches like being yourself works best. I'm going to ignore that rude quote Stevie put in, and instead say UP YOUR BUM, like the fantastic girl in Wish You Were Here which was on Channel 4 again the other night. But yesterday I was messing around working out which chords go together, and I thought, hey, this means I could try writing a song. So I had a go, but I found that they just kept coming out sounding cheesy and like Travis. In fact, let's be honest, like Travis but WORSE. So the next thing I need to do is work out which chords nearly go together but not quite. sinister shit im losing it. from the first moment of waking up and when the first cup of coffee tasted like washing up ok i prob got that all wrong but i am im so scared first, for the first time ever i lost it and really screamed at someone-in class. for a very petty reason. i was tld to go for a walk till id calmed down. i didnt go back till the end. even tho id calmed down- i couldnt face them. and then today :*( i dont get on with one of my sisters, at all shes a year and half younger and is very mean to me she always calls me a freak and is generally very horrible and today i lost it with her but i didnt just scream at her i took evry reasonable appraoch i could think of but it didnt work i went for her i grabbed her hair and dragged her onto the floor (bearing in mind shes about 2" taller and alot bigger and stronger) i stood over her back and held her down she was screaming and screaming she got me off and i got her into like a headlock then i left and she was crying and upset she phoned my dad and he came and took her away and i was shaking and crying and scared i feel so stressed and so scared help me i am so scared what have i done lost, sweetie x +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the undead Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail "sinister(a)missprint.org". Sinister: freaks and geeks

hello people. i too am still having weird dreams. last nights was the sort of scary dream that you wake up from expecting to see some dark shadowy creature looming over you. as long as dreams don't come true (and from my experience they don't) i should be ok. poor sweetie. i think we all snap sometimes. maybe meditation would be good. i hear it can work wonders. of course i am too lazy and too busy to try it myself. today i saw my boss start to cry. it was not fun. i wanted to give her a hug but i don't think you can really hug your boss. i watched the tv show freaks and geeks the other night. it was really good. it makes me wish i could redo childhood though (except for the fact that i was miserable until 15 or so). i can remember going to school with geeks just like the ones on the show and was i ever nice to them?...no. somehow i was one of the cool kids. i think it was b/c i was friends with the girls on my street and they were cool so it was by assoc. yet i was a scrawny painfully shy disagreeable little brat so without them i would have been lost. i just read everyones posts. somehow i felt that i had something interesting to say but i guess i was mistaken. to all the boys who are confused about what girls want the answer is sincere adoration. now if your letting her know that she is the ultimate woman does not work then she obviously does not reciprocate your feelings. then it's time to move on until you find someone who thinks you are the ultimate man in return. i am thinking of actually placing a list crush. i have been biding my time. reading the posts. i notice that it is very hard to convey irony over e-mail. i take everything everyone says literally. even when i shouldn't. ok. i'm going. -di "i respect those who have faith even though they are ignorant" -hemingway +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the undead Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail "sinister(a)missprint.org". deary me, Once again i am wrong. Why do i think such crazy things, I knew full well it was on the 4th at the star and garter, i must have been mistaken as to what date it was last friday. Today is the first in over 1000 years when the date and year was made up of all even numbers, the last was 28/8/1888. Just though i'd tell you all. So i should be seeing you in the S+G this friday, i still need to find someone to come with me out of my nirvana loving friends. Today also i heared the first song emerge from the recording, it sounded ok, the people at school liked it anyway. I have to go to re-install Word to do my coursework on, and i suppose ill have to find my printer CD to re-install that too. My sister found someone at Uni with loads of bootleg B+S records, and that looper one, so I will be posting her some cassettes tonight. That bootleg from Paris costs £20 in my record shop.
