Hello sinisterines! Well I went clubbing last night. My friend thought it would cheer me up after the loss of my boyfriend, even though I wanted rid of him. So I'm not a great dancer, and the music was all dance. I thought about requesting B&S but I do actually value my life. Anyway, big cool crowd of mokes from my school was there and started yelling not very nice things about my dancing, and my new purple top and silver trousers which I was so proud of. And then the boys in the crowd came over and started pushing me against the wall and coming on to me for a joke. So I went to sit with my friend. And then she paired up with a really nice boy with floppy hair and left me on my own for three hours, stuck in between some drunk boys and a boy doing THINGS with a girl in a very short dress. And that's why going clubbing is a mokeish idea. Erica said something nice about me and then said: << I should thankyou actually, Jenny, as after you wrote to the list about that Barry boy, I wrote what I think will be my first P!O!P hit:>> And then a very nice song, which is actually a lot like barry except that he's not got a car. And I hope that when she's on Top of The P!O!Ps, that she will let me backstage to kill Britney Spears. Also I think the sinister handshake (badgeshake?) is a GRATE idea, and i'm just off to change my badge now. Then Alisdair said: <<Jenowl (who is the ultimate. Not the ultimate B&S fan, just the ultimate) used the work 'moke' a lot. I'd like an explanation, please.>> And I was laughing, a lot. Because it's a word i read in an old 1960 Bunty annual, and I thought it just made such a GRATE insult that I decided to revive it. So now everyone has to use it please. Samantha took her thumb out of her mouth long enough to say: << I know a boy named Eddie who calls himself Moke and I believe that I hate him even more than Kid Rock. But maybe he's slagging* himself and he doesn't even know it? I hope so. Tell us Jen.>> He is slagging himself rotten. And if he's a git, then let him keep on doing it, because then you can secretly laugh at him for not only being a moke but publicly admitting it. and... <> We could call it Baldy's Paradise? Our ad slogan could be "Come here or be a baldy moke!" Or is that just cruel? Anyway, I get after school job before i'm sixteen, AND I get to work for Samantha, so I'm well happy, as long as she doesn't make me clean the toilets. Oh. My RE teacher asked me about my badge and I told him to listen to B&S, and he said he would. So if my RE teacher joins sinister, then please don't kill me everyone. Any way. I'm off for now. I certainly would welcome your thoughts on permission re: distribution before I actually copy up a million of them and plaster Philadelphia. Hi. Im Bored. Post time. So, This Sinister Village. Is there any room for a akward mod girl with a London Underground obsession? Village's are funny things. Villages always have a village Whore, village IDiot, village...PEOPLE! Thats right, what sort of village would it be without the village people!! (come on kids..YMCA!) Theyre a bit scary really, aren't they? Leather trousers and all.... I dunno what use I would have in the Sinister Village..but I assure you, its Not "arse dancing" instructor..thankyou very much... Thought I would let people know what I have been listening to of late... just because. I wanna! Sorry honey, but I'm going to have to forget your warning about thinking before I post. Being freed from the iron hands of the nursery maids, I have been overcome with a feeling of such great power that I am sure anything I write will be well worth reading (ha). Anyway, for those who do not already know, I am rob the new kid. I enjoy alienating those around me and I get my kicks by destroying loving communities from the inside...I mean, midnight bowling. I would like to begin the mass alienation by thanking all those in the chat room who have been so warmly welcoming to me the past two weeks, even the ones who obviously don't like me terribly much (you know who you are, and I love you :) ). I won't bore you all with the tale of my torrid affair with the music of Belle and her boy. I hope the preceding sentence is close enough to content for this post. If I may be so presumptious as to invite myself into the little Sinister village, I make one hell of a cup of tea and would love to run the giant tea plantation at the edge of town. Every need, be it for a fine darjeeling, a complexly layered oolong, or some of that sludge in a bag (I also cater to the lazy), I will fill your void (um...tea related please) with warm service at the tea bar located on the border between the commercial and residential districts. I need bouncers to ruff around anyone who comes in asking for coffee. And for the love of god people, would it kill you to tip your teaboys and teagirls. Speaking of which, I am taking applications for such positions. I would also like a team of trained monkeys to climb into the heights and pick the really delicate teas. All right...I will let you all move on to the other messages piling up in your mail box. Saturday 26 February 2000 22:06 Dear people After suspecting that I'm the only listee who is in at this time on a saturday night, alone (well two children asleep upstairs), but alone in the sense of romantically alone,abandoned, apart, deserted, desolate, detached, forlorn, forsaken, isolated, lonely, lonesome, only, separate, single, sole, solitary, unaccompanied, uncombined and unconnected......OK, so I've got a thesaurus on my PC, I've also got a pizza in the oven and think I can smell it burning.....hang on, I'm gonna see if I can salvage it. Alright, so I've got a thesaurus, a Sainsbury's pepperoni pizza, three bottles of Spanish lager, 17 left of a pack of Silk Cut and a hope that the girls wont awaken until at least 8am. I now wish I hadn't looked up alone on the thesaurus - it makes for grim internalisation. So I could phone their mother, but she's probably getting screwed by her boyfriend.....yeah, I'll phone her......wait a minute and I'll let you know if I was right...........said she was in bed..going to sleep......! Don't get me wrong we have a very good relationship, it was our wedding anniversary yesterday, she dragged out leaving for five months of Hell and finally went two weeks ago.......the first week was difficult, but not as difficult as living together over the past months, and this week's been much better, and that's in some part due to a listee who's helped me through - thankyou. Any way......Music - and pain and love and loss and romance and tears.......and Christ this pepperoni hot, just off to the fridge to get another lager......that's better, but I can't finish the pizza, if any of you want it mail me and I'll post it on, although I think it will need to be wrapped in some kind of special packaging that has probably been developed by NASA for use on the Space Shuttle.....Sainsbury's pepperoni pizza, eat it at your peril. Ah, yes....better mention music. OK, so I'm not the only person in the world or probably on the list who's long-term (in my case nine years and two children) relationship has suffered from corrosion, in this case the chemical reaction was between her and someone she works with (sound familiar).........so I'm not saying I had nothing to do with this and that I didn't contribute to our demise, I just wont lay my failings before you unless pushed........ music, music, music..........so what got me through the last 5 months - here's a list, and if you ever find yourself similarly appraised try listening to......... 1. Hi Sinister This thing about Struan shouting at the end of LLPJ.. I can't hear it, so could somebody please tell me exactly where in the song, in minutes and seconds, the actual shouting is located, before I ruin the bluddy CD by listening to the end over and over? Does anybody know if some kindhearted soul has taken upon him/her to write down chords/tabs to Elliott Smith's music? Cause it can be quite difficult and I could really use some help. Finally, and most important: somebody spoke of the upcoming (hopefully) SinVil-site.. I'm thinking of making it, that is, if anyone else hasn't already started doing so. If someone has, then mail me. Anyway, as you all understand this thing will depend on YOUR content. So if you've got any contributions send them. Somebody was going to make a map, which could make a great welcome page, or maybe like a menu where you can click on the (for example) library and then get to a library page, a short story of the month, or whatever. By the way, if someone is keeping track of who's who a complete list would be great. Names. What is in a name? Quite a lot actually. Here goes: three days ago my sister had a little baby, *aah*, and she's decided to call her "Isabella Catrin Augusta Lynn". Now, Catrin is a really pretty name (it's Welsh), and I don't have too much against Isabella (I might even call her Belle) but Augusta just reminds me of golf. I do, however, have to be a little grateful when I think that the other names being considered were Saschia and Taloola. Now these were just little gripes that I was going to keep to myself, but I read an article in The Times section 3 (the English Times) entitled "Fettucine, please don't fidget" addressing the issue that "wacky names are all the rage for posh parents", and it's true, where are people going to get off? It's not that I have a problem with odd or different names (just look at mine for Christ's sake), but I do have a thing against names like "Fifi Trixibelle" (-Paula Yates and Bob Geldof), "Elijah Bob Particus Guggi Q Hewson (-Bono and his wife), "Missy" (-Damon Albarn, I mean come on... Miss Missy Albarn!) or "2la" (-a real middle name), because I hate it when people try to be different or cool just for the sake of it. You just have to look at Zowie Bowie... he's changed his name to Joe. Good on him. Well I'm sorry if I've offended anyone who's called Wisteria (a flower) or Cumulus (a cloud), and for my over use of quote marks, and I'll be even more sorry if my sister reads this! Hi. After having a small discussion with one Erica MacArthur on the #sinister IRC thing, I have decided, with no flourishing trumpets, to return to the list. Okay, so a couple of you don't like me. One of you seems to like mailing me abusive e-mails from random addresses. So, if that's you, don't hide. Come out and reveal yourself to my face, then we can talk. It's been rather an interesting time in the land of Twee lately. I've heard the word mentioned so many times in the last week that it's becoming surreal <grin> Interesting vocal mistakes too: (1) Friend, referring to Air song, in the middle of crowded store: "I love Sexy Boy!" (2) Same friend, later that week, another store: "I just think Velvet Pants is great!!!" (Propellerheads song, I think) (3) Same friend, after being laughed at : "I wish people would stop listening to me!!! Fuck!" <grin> Muse rocked like mad fuckers at King Tut's in Glasgow. My friend Daniel said: "They make Feeder look like that Belle & Sebastian mob." (this is my meagre B&S content) I'm desperately trying to gather enough money to see GYBE! next month at the Garage in Glasgow. Does anyone know if there's many tickets left? Beck and Primal Scream are also fast approaching, so maybe see a few of you there :) I hear there's going to be a festival in Glasgow in August. Oasis headlining. How great <sarcasm> cos they are just *the* best band ever! <end sarcasm> I see that Daniel Ryder (from the RHML) is now here. Glad you took my advice, Dan. Watch your girlfriends around this man, chaps.
